Deir Ezzor | NDF accidentally discover mass graveyard with remains of nearly ten ISIS members

Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have reported that the regime-backed “National Defence Forces” (NDF) have discovered a tomb nearby Al-Panorama area in Deir Ezzor containing the remains of nearly nine decomposed bodies. The bodies belonged to ISIS members who were killed in military operations between ISIS and regime forces in the area years ago. According to SOHR sources, NDF have discovered this mass graveyard, by chance, during digging work.

 

On October 27, 2020, reliable sources informed SOHR that the charity of “Al-Sh’aytat Martyrs” managed, with the help of residents, to retrieve the remnants of 26 bodies belonging to young males and men of al-Sh’aytat executed with hundreds others of the same tribe by ISIS six years earlier.

 

According to SOHR sources, a mass graveyard was discovered in the desert of Jammah village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor with the remnants of 26 persons whose identities have been recognized.

 

It is worth noting that ISIS executed a massacre against the people of al-Sh’aytat tribe, when it was controlling Deir Ezzor in 2014, where over 930 young males and men were executed.
