Joint patrol | Russian and Turkish forces tour villages in Ain al-Arab countryside (Kobani)

SOHR sources have monitored Russian and Turkish forces conducting a new joint patrol in Ain al-Arab countryside (Kobani), east of Aleppo. The patrol roamed in several villages near the Syria-Turkey border.

 

On May 10, Observatory activists reported seeing Russian and Turkish forces running a new joint patrol in the east of the city of Ain al-Arab (Kobani). The joint patrol of four Russian and four Turkish armoured vehicles set off from the border village of Gharib and toured border villages east of Ain al-Arab (Kobani), before it returned to the starting point. It is worth noting that the patrol was escorted by two Russian helicopters.

 

While on May 6, SOHR activists reported seeing Russian and Turkish forces running a joint patrol in the western countryside of al-Darbasiyyah. A patrol of four Russian vehicles and four other Turkish set off from Sgerik village which is located to the west of al-Darbasiyyah city and toured the villages of Dalik, Malak, Abbas, al-Aliyah and Zahr al-Arab, then the patrol headed to al-Kesra in the northern countryside of Abu Rasin (Zarkan), before it returned to the starting point. It is worth noting that the patrol was escorted by two Russian helicopters.
