Aleppo | Members of SDF-backed military groups killed and injured, while Turkish forces bombard villages hosting displaced people

Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that one member of al-Bab Military Council was killed and three others were injured on July 23 due to Turkish shelling on the frontlines of al-Lajat, al-Hosheria and al-Arima in the countryside of al-Bab city in eastern Aleppo. Meanwhile, a Kurdish fighter was killed and another was injured yesterday by Turkish bombardment on Sheikh Issa village in Aleppo countryside.

On the other hand, Turkish forces have bombarded, with heavy artillery, Ahres village which hosts a large number of Syrians who have been displaced from Afrin to north Aleppo countryside, leaving several civilians injured. Kurdish forces reacted by shelling, with heavy artillery and mortars, the vicinity of Marea town and Kaljabreen-Marea road in northern Aleppo. However, no casualties have been reported.

Earlier this morning, SOHR activists reported artillery fire by Turkish forces and their proxy factions on Kurdish-held areas in Mar’naz and other positions in northern Aleppo and southern countryside of Afrin. This bombardment came after several rockets hit residential neighbourhoods in Afrin city, which resulted in the injury of eight civilians, including four children and two women. Meanwhile, another woman was injured after a rocket hit the suburbs of Mare’ city in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
