Violent clashing and the regime forces advances and controls strategic sites in the vicinity of Palmyra and casualties in clashes in the vicinity of al-Qaryatayn

Homs Province:
Violent clashes are taking place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against members from the “Islamic State” on the outskirts of Palmyra city in the eastern countryside of Homs, and in the area around al-Qaryatayn city southeast of Homs province, amid new advancement for the regime forces in the vicinity of Palmyra and controlling the road of Palmyra – Damascus and the road of Homs – Palmyra, which allows for further advancement for the regime forces toward the city, the clashes accompanied by the fall of more missiles launched by the by regime forces targeted the city of Palmyra and its outskirts, after they reached the outskirts of the city supported by the Syrian and Russian warplanes’ aerial bombardment, while the activists of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights  in the eastern countryside of Homs were informed that the “Islamic State” planted large quantities of landmines in the vicinity of the city and in most of the neighborhoods, in the an attempt to delay the regime forces’ entry to the city and prevent it, also the Syrian observatory for human rights received information about the arrival of reinforcements for the organization coming from Deir Ezzor province, in an attempt to stop the advancement of the regime forces to the city, while the regime forces renewed the shelling on areas in the city of Talbiseh in the northern countryside of Homs, the regime forces also shelled areas in the town of Al-Ghantu, no information about casualties, also the regime forces opened heavy machineguns’ fire on areas in the outskirts of Teir Maalah village in the northern countryside of Homs, no information about injuries.
