Renewed violent battles in Damascus and the outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta and the regime forces intensify their shelling on both areas

Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Ein Tarma town and Ein Tarma valley, which are located at the western outskirts of the eastern Ghouta, have been experiencing intensive shelling by the regime forces in conjunction with renewed violent clashes between Al-Rahman Corps on one hand and the regime forces and their allied militiamen on the other in areas in the vicinity of Almotahalik Aljanobi (the Southern Bypass) and Ein Tarma valley. Meanwhile, violent clashes broke out also in the areas of Al-Manasher and ‘Arefa in Jobar neighborhood, located at the eastern outskirts of Damascus, which is adjacent to Ein Tarma and Almotahalik Aljanobi, amid tens of shells fired by the regime forces on areas of clashes in Jobar neighborhood. Casualties arising from such clashes, which are still ongoing, were reported at both sides. Such violent clashes took place between the regime forces and their allied militiamen on one hand and Al-Rahman Corps on the other in ‘Arefa area in Jobar neighborhood and in the vicinity of Almotahalik Aljanobi. In addition, the number of raids carried out by warplanes on areas at the outskirts of Ein Tarma rose to 9 since the morning of Wednesday the 9^th of August 2017. Moreover, at least 9 missiles, believed to be ground-to-ground, were fired by the regime forces on the outskirts of Ein Tarma. The regime forces also fired several shells on areas at the outskirts of Hosh Al-Dawahra and Al-Zorayqiyah in Al-Marj area in the Eastern Ghouta. No casualties were reported.

The SOHR also published that the regime forces and their allied militiamen renewed their targeting of the Eastern Ghouta following the calm the prevailed last night. The SOHR learned that the regime forces targeted the outskirts of Ein Tarma town, from the side of East of Damascus, with 6 missiles, believed to be ground-to-ground. Missiles were accompanied by three shells that were fired on areas there. Meanwhile, warplanes carried out five raids on east of Damascus and the Eastern Ghouta. Four of those raids targeted Jobar neighborhood whereas the last one targeted Ein Tarma. The regime forces also fired 10 shells on areas in Jobar neighborhood. No casualties have been reported so far.
