The rebel and Islamic factions continue their attack and expand their control to 12 villages and areas in the south-eastern countryside of Idlib and start preliminary shelling on the important town of Abu Dali

The violent clashes are continuing between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the fighters of the factions of Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, Jaysh Al-Ahrar, Al-Sham Corps, Jaysh al-Izza, the Free Idlib Army, Jaysh al-Nukhba, the Second Army, Jaysh al-Nasr, the Islamic Party of Turkestan, Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic movement, as a result of the continuation of the attack of the latter the south-eastern countryside of Idlib and the adjacent north-eastern countryside of Hama, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the factions which started this dawn a violent and counter attack on position of the regime forces and the villages they controlled during the past few days, managed to achieve further advancement in the area, and expand their scope of control, where they regained the control of 9 villages, 2 farms and a checkpoint until now which are: ((Al-Hamdania, Al-Salumiya, Al-Jadu’iyya, Mshirfah Shamali, Al-Khwaiyn, Zarzur, Atshan, Umm Al-Khalakhil, Tell Maraq)), and they also controlled the farms of Al-Hussein and Al-Naddaf Farms as well as Al-Halil checkpoint.

These violent clashes coincided with the continuation of intensive shelling by the regime forces targeting areas in the south-eastern countryside, amid intensive targeting by the factions to the controlled areas of the regime forces and their positions, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored shelling by tens of missiles on Abu Dali town controlled by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, in a preparation for attacking and controlling it, in conjunction with targeting in the clash areas, while the warplanes and helicopters carried out bombardment again on areas in Abu Makki village, Jarjnaz, Atshan, and Murak, with shelling by the regime forces on areas in Kafr Zita and the northern countryside, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored counter attacks by groups of the regime forces on places in the area, in order to advance and set trapped groups of their members free and secure a way for them to retreat from the area, while it has increased to 3, the number of the commander within more than 16 fighters of the factions who have been killed since this dawn in the clashes.

And with the ongoing advancement of the factions in the area, , the number of the villages which the regime forces controlled in Idlib and Hama countryside since the 22nd of October 2017, has decreased to 151 villages and towns, decreasing to at least 108, the number of the remaining towns and villages of the total areas which the regime forces and their allies controlled since the 25th of December 2017, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that the regime forces and their allied managed to expand their controlled villages and towns to at least 117 in the countryside of Idlib since the start of escalation of military operations of the regime forces on the 25th of December 2017, they also expanded their control to 160 villages and towns in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and they are: Tel Salmo, Zafr Sagher, Zafar Kabir, Al-Dabshiya, Rasm Abed, Talb, Mera’aya, Al-Hisa, Om Jrin, Bayya’a Saghira, Bayya’a Kabira, Jub Abyad, Al-Bowayder, Aqlat Al-Bowayder, Raefah, Aziza, Rasm Nayas, Ras al-Ayn, Rasm Al-Jahsh, Om Tammakh, Rasm Al-Khshuf, Mbawas, Rasm Al-Burj, Rasm Al-Ahmar, Rasm Al-Ayn, al-Jabriya, Khariba, Rasm Al-War, Harmla.
