Warplanes and helicopters target Idlib countryside with 25 air strikes as factions bring military reinforcement to Maarrat Al-Nu’man
SOHR sources reported that the factions brought military reinforcement to Maarrat Al-Nu’man with the purpose of stopping the regime’s expected advancement towards Maarrat Al-Nu’man city and Saraqib town, taking advantage of the stoppage of aerial operations.
On Friday and Thursday, heavy weapons and armored vehicles have been brought to the vicinity of Maarrat Al-Nu’man city.
In connection to this, Russian reconnaissance drones dropped cluster bombs on the outskirts of Qastun town in Sahl Al-Ghab in the north-western countryside of Idlib. Meanwhile Russian warplanes renewed bombardment on residential neighborhoods in Maarrat Al-Nu’man city and Khan Al-Sabil town in the southern countryside of Idlib, raising the number of today’s air strikes to 15.
Also the number of raids by regime warplanes that targeted the M4 and Babilla village to six.
For their part, helicopters dropped four barrel bombs on Tal Mannas and Al-Hamidyah.
Today’s aerial bombardment comes after nearly 72 hours of halting aerial operations on the “de-escalation” zone.
On the other hand, the regime ground forces fired 160 shells and missiles on the “de-escalation” zone targeting Kabani and surrounding areas in Jabal Al-Akrad in the northern countryside of Latakia, Al-Hawwash, Al-Amqiyah, Jib Suleiman and other areas in Jabal Shashaboo in the north-western countryside of Hama, Tal Mannas, Al-Deir Al-Sharqi, Al-Deir Al-Gharbi, Maarshorin, Maarshamsheh, Kafrumah, Al-Amriyah and Muqah in the south-eastern countryside of Idlib.
In connection to this, SOHR monitored fierce clashes in the north-western countryside of Hama, after the factions thwarted an infiltration attempt by regime forces in Al-Badriyah area. The clashes were coincided with artillery shelling by the regime on areas in Jib Suleiman and Al-Amqiyah in the same countryside.
Exchange of rocket fire has been still continuing between the factions and jihadis against the regime forces, on contested areas in Idlib and Latakia countryside.
