SDF thwart attack by Turkish-backed factions leaving six rebels dead west of Tal Abyad

Syria Democratic Forces thwarted an attack by the Turkish-backed factions today on Jalbah and Abdiko villages in the western countryside of Tal Abyad, north of Al-Raqqah. Meanwhile, SDF shelled positions of these factions.

SOHR activists documented the killing of six Turkish-backed fighters in the shelling and attacks between both parties, SDF also seized weapons and ammunition.

As more combatants were killed, the death toll among the Syria Democratic Forces, military councils and internal security forces since the start of the Turkish military operation on the 9th of October 2019 have reached 445.

SOHR also documented the death of 30 members of the regime forces as a result of a missile targeting by the Turkish-backed factions on the areas of north-west of Manbij and the east of Ayn Issa town in positions of the regime forces’ deployment.

Meanwhile, the number of deaths among Syrian factions loyal to Ankara and the pro-Turkey cells killed in the attacks and clashes against the SDF during the same period reached 361, including 21 of the cells loyal to Ankara killed in clashes against the SDF, in addition to 11 Turkish soldiers were killed during the battles, amid information about more dead Turks on the Turkish-Syrian border.
