ISIS executions: cells capture and execute three regime soldiers, including high-ranking officer in Homs desert

SOHR sources say that Islamic State cells have become increasingly active in the Syrian Desert. ISIS cells were able to capture a colonel in the regime forces with two other soldiers near the village of Al-Rashwaniya in Homs desert. The three were executed by Islamic State members.

The death toll since late March 24 to date has risen. The Syrian Observatory documented the death of at least 367 members of regime forces and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian citizens, including at least two Russians.

In addition to 67 members of Iranian-backed militias of non-Syrian citizens, all were killed in ISIS attacks, IEDs and ambushes in the western Euphrates, and the desert of Deir ez-Zor, Homs and Sweida.

SOHR also confirmed the death of four civilians working in the gas fields as a result of the group’s attacks, and two shepherds were killed in the group’s attacks,

The Syrian Observatory has also documented the death of 119 members of Islamic State, during the same period, in attacks, bombings and targets.
