After less than 72 hours for the death of tens regime forces’ members… Calm prevails the eastern Ghouta with its new agreement from the “de-escalation zones”

Rif Dimashq province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the activists of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored complete calmness in the Eastern Ghouta, after the morning raids on Douma city and Ein Tarma town in the Eastern Ghouta, and places at the outskirts of Jobar area in the east of the capital Damascus, this calm comes after the renewal of the “de-escalation zones” agreement, which has been in effect since the 6th of May 2017, where the renewal of the agreement concerns the Eastern Ghouta area in Rif Dimashq except the area of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, the agreement is based on a complete cease-fire and the introduction of humanitarian and food aid to the area, the evacuation of injuries and ill cases from in the Eastern Ghouta out of it to receive treatment.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published today Saturday morning that it rose to 51 at least, the number of civilian persons who were killed and documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights since the regime forces started the military operation in Jobar neighbourhood and the surroundings of Ein Tarma in the Eastern Ghouta on the 20th of June 2017; until the 22nd of July 2017, among the civilian casualties there are 9 children under the age of eighteen and 12 woman over the age of eighteen, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the rise of fighters of the factions’ death toll to at least 37, they were killed in the same period of time as a result of the shelling and the clashes, also it rose to 29 at least, the number of members of the regime forces who were killed in Ein Tarma area and east of Damascus since the 20th of June until today the Saturday 22nd of July 2017.

Also this calm comes less than 72 hours after the death of at least 28 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them including officers, they were killed while they were attempting to attack in al-Rihan front south of Douma in the Eastern Ghouta, reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the regime forces were trying to advance in the strategic area by this attack, which would have allowed them to control a block of farms which in turn would have enable them to uncover most of al-Rihan area, and the activists of the Syrian Observatory monitored Jaysh al-Islam transferring a large number of bodies they pulled out of the battlefield.
