Massacre in Yarmouk Camp raises the death toll to 18 and air and ground strikes continue to accompany the violent clashes south of the capital Damascus

Damascus Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Yarmouk camp witnessed a massacre carried out by warplanes which killed civilian citizens from the camp, and in details documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: warplanes bombed an area near Palestine Park in al-Yarmouk camp on Tuesday, the 24th of April, which killed 6 citizens: they are 2 men and their wives, another woman and another man, where their bodies are still under the rubble caused by the aerial bombardment on the area, also the bombardment injured people, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, raising to 18 at least, the number of people who were killed since Thursday, the 19th of April 2018 in Yarmouk Camp and south of the capital Damascus, including a man, his wife and their child, as well as 3 other women, an old man and an ambulance driver.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of bombing by warplanes and helicopters on areas in Yarmouk Camp, al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood and other areas in the southern section of the capital Damascus, in conjunction with the continuous violent clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” Organization, in areas in the vicinity and outskirts of the neighborhoods of al-Kadam, al-Tadamon, Yarmouk Camp and al-Hajar al-Aswad, amid intense exchange of targeting on the clash areas between both parties, with shelling by the regime forces by artillery and rocket shells and missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, causing more destruction in the infrastructure, property of citizens and medical and service centers in the area.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that it monitored the regime forces bringing more military reinforcements to the southern section of the capital Damascus, in conjunction with the continuation of military operations in the area, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the arrival of reinforcements from the Eastern Qalamoun, which witnessed the displacement of thousands of fighters, their families and civilians, and during the agreement large quantities of weapons, armored vehicles, tanks, ammunition, missiles and vehicles were handed over to the regime forces and the Russians, where reinforcements arrived in an attempt by the regime forces to expand the scale of attack on the Organization and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, where the regime forces has been carrying out operations in several areas in al-Hajar al-Aswad, al-Kadam, al-Tadamon and Yarmouk camp, after they managed to advancement in the north, south and northwest of the “Islamic State” organization’s controlled areas.

While the clashes between both parties continue with a renewed bombardment by warplanes and helicopters on areas controlled by the “Islamic State” organization, amid artillery and missile shelling on the same areas, in conjunction with exchange of targeting in the clash areas between both parties, and information about more casualties in their ranks.

The Syrian Observatory published hours ago that the violent clashes and intensive shelling resulted in the fall of human losses in the ranks of the both parties, where it has increased to 52 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who were killed in 6 days of clashes, including a number of officers, while it has increased to 35, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the shelling, clashes and targeting that left tens of wounded in the ranks of the both parties, and the death toll is expected to rise because of the continued combat operations and the presence of injured cases in critical situation, the Syrian Observatory also documented clashes between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the remaining members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, in areas in the northern outskirts of Yarmouk Camp, and the clashes in this front resulted in the fall of more human losses in the area of the enclave controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, where it has increased to at least 11, the number of the casualties of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, while t has increased to 9, the number of members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham who were killed in these clashes.
