And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 18th of June 2017, that clashes continue with violent pace between the regime forces and their Syrian and non-Syrian allied militiamen on one hand and ISIS on the other in areas in the southern countryside of Al-Raqqah city. The regime forces managed to take control of Al-Resafa city located at Salamiyah- Al-Raqqah road about 40 km away south of Al-Raqqah city. Clashes were accompanied by intensive shelling by the regime forces, which forced ISIS to withdraw. The regime then started inspecting the entire city to ensure that no ISIS members, of those who refused to withdraw, were hiding. With such advancement, the SDF and the regime forces became so close to the waterline extending from the Euphrates, between Al-Bu’aasi and Shu’ayb Al-Thakar in the western countryside of Al-Tabqa, to Al-Resafa – Al-Raqqah road.
