Tribal elders and Sheikhs in al-Hasaka Province issued a statement condemning the Turkish threats about a military action against the east Euphrates area, and the Syrian Observatory obtained a copy of this statement, it says: “We, the elders and Sheikhs of tribes al-Hasakah city of Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians, and Yazidis stand against the Turkish threats to invade and occupy our Syrian territory in the north and east of Euphrates; under the pretext of establishing a safe area, we, the assembled, affirm that Erdogan’s criminal and expansionist ambitions began since the introduction of gangs of the Free Army, Jabhat al-Nusra, and ISIS to our area, and the occupation of large parts of the Syrian territory, which were liberated thanks to the sacrifices of our sons and daughters of the Syria Democratic Forces.

We, the elders and Sheikhs of al-Hasakah city, call on all institutions of the international community and the forces supporting peace, to stop this wanton aggression on our territory and affirm our stand with our sons in the Syria Democratic Forces to defend our land and our Honor.

We declare a state of general alert for all our people and provide all means to counter this wanton aggression on our soil.”
