Turkey sends new batch of its Syrian proxies to Libya, as 190 Syrian mercenaries killed on Libyan territory

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that Turkey has sent a new batch of fighters of Turkish-backed factions to Libya. Tens of Turkish-backed Syrian fighters have arrived in Libya to join battles in the side of the “Government of National Accord” against the “Libyan National Army” (Haftar’s forces).

Meanwhile, fierce clashes are underway between both sides on several frontlines in Libya.

Syrian Observatory activists has documented the killing of eight Syrian mercenaries, bringing the total death toll of Turkish-backed Syrian proxies in military operations in Libya to 190.

On the other hand, Haftar’s forces captured five Syrian mercenaries of those who were sent to Libya by Turkey in the past few hours.

Observatory sources reported a few days ago that Turkey continues to send Syrian mercenaries to join the war in Libya. Reliable sources informed the Syrian observatory that a new batch of at least 150 militiamen of the Turkish-backed faction “Sultan Murad” was transported by Turkish buses in the past few days, from Afrin city centre heading to the border with Turkey. Another batch of tens other recruits from Jarabulus and Al-Bab cities headed to the gathering point in Hawar Kellis area.

Nearly 300 mercenaries affiliated to “Sultan Murad”, “Suqour al-Shamal Brigade” and “Al-Sham Corps” arrived in Libya on Friday.

Accordingly, the number of recruits who arrived in Tripoli up to date, rose to nearly 5,050, while nearly 1,950 others arrived in Turkey to undergo training courses.
