Anonymous attack | Violent explosion hits Aleppo city, as unidentified aircraft flying over the area
Syrian Observatory activists have reported hearing a loud explosion in the early hours of Saturday morning in “Madfa’iyat Al-Ramouseh” area in the southern sector of the regime-controlled city of Aleppo. Regime forces captured the area in September 2016, with support by the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias.
No further details have been reported about the nature of the explosion. It is worth noting that the explosion coincided with overflight of unidentified aircraft over the area.
On May 5, SOHR activists documented the killing of 14 Iranian and Iraqi militiamen due to Israeli airstrikes on positions of Iranian forces and Iranian-backed militias in the deserts of Al-Quriyah, Al-Salihyah and Al-Mayadin in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
It is worth noting that Israeli airstrikes also targeted weapons and ammunition depots in “defense factories” in Al-Sfirah area, south-east of Aleppo. The area is under the control of regime forces and Iranian-backed militias.
