ISIS resurgence | Four people executed for “spying for regime”

ISIS has executed several people whom it says that they are “spies of the Syrian regime” in Al-Sukhnah area in Homs countryside. In new video footage, ISIS members appeared executing four persons, using their routine styles “slaughtering and execution by firing squad”.

Syrian Observatory sources have reported about frequent kidnappings of shepherds in the Syrian desert in areas under the control of regime forces and loyal militias.

The executed people, who appeared in the recent video footage, had been kidnapped with other people by ISIS nearly two months ago for “providing the regime forces with information about ISIS locations in Al-Sukhnah desert”.

This execution comes at a time when the Syrian desert near Al-Sukhnah city have experienced hit-and-run clashes between regime forces and ISIS cells since March. SOHR sources in the area say that Russian and regime forces have blocked Palmyra-Deir Ezzor road, after targeting ISIS cells which are active in Jabal Al-Beshri. Meanwhile, jets and helicopters strike ISIS cells in the area every now and then.
