Old ordnances | Remnants of war threaten the lives of people who returned to areas affected by military operations

The remnants of the Syrian war are real threat to the lives of citizens wishing to return to their homes in areas that have been intensely shelled during the recent escalation of military operations.

Meanwhile, two civilians were injured as an old ordnance caused by regime forces’ shelling on Jabal al-Arbaeen area, south of Idlib.

On May 31, SOHR sources reported that a landmine left over from the Syrian war exploded in a combine harvester in the town of Karnaz, which is under the control of regime forces in the northern countryside of Hama, while harvesting the crop, injuring him.

An increasing number of people killed recently by a landmine, unexploded bombs, and collapse of war-damaged residential buildings in various Syrian areas and cities such as Homs, Hama Deir Ezzor, Aleppo, and southern Syria.

The Syrian Observatory has documented since January 2019 to date some 293 fatalities, including 65 women and 83 children.
