Al-Bukamal | Regime-backed National Defense Forces assume control over Lebanese Hezbollah checkpoints

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that military reinforcement of the National Defense arrived in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. Meanwhile, the checkpoints of Iranian-backed militias were handed over to the National Defense.

According to Observatory sources, 30 military vehicles of the regime-backed National Defense Forces (NDF) from Damascus were stationed in the areas controlled by Lebanese Hezbollah, in the city of Al-Bukamal, east of Deir ez-Zor province.

On June 3, reliable sources have told SOHR that the Iranian-backed militia of “Fatemiyoun” brought in a military column to its positions in Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Nearly 30 vehicles carrying military and logistical equipment as well as fighters arrived in the militia’s position, coming from Al-Herri town on Iraq border.

According to SOHR sources, the column has been stationed in Al-Mazare’ area which now has large concentrations of Iranian forces and loyal militias.

On May 20, reliable SOHR sources monitored a bus carrying tens of Iranian-backed militiamen arriving in Al-Bokamal city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, from Iraq.

Recently, Iranian forces are used to transporting military reinforcement in civil buses in order to evade detection.
