ISIS resurgence | 40 operations in a month leave 28 civilians and military personnel dead

Despite all security campaigns by Syria Democratic Forces and the International Coalition, ISIS activities are escalating largely in SDF-controlled areas across Syria. These activities are mainly concentrated in Deir Ezzor, especially in the eastern countryside.

According to SOHR statistics, ISIS has carried out more than 39 operations since May 19 to date, including detonation of IEDs, motorcycle-bombs and car-bombs, gunfire, attacks and executions.

These operations have left many dead in SDF-held areas in Deir Ezzor countryside, Al-Hasakah countryside, Al-Raqqah city and countryside, and Manbij area. Syrian activists have documented the killing of 28 persons, and they are as follows:

Six civilians, including two children and one woman.

22 SDF fighters and workers in the institutions of the Autonomous Administration

On the other hand, all SDF and International Coalition security campaigns have failed to contain ISIS’ growing activities and attacks. Many of these campaigns have included indiscriminate mass arrests, while some of ISIS operations have been daringly carried out in broad daylight.  Last of such operations were in Deir Ezzor where ISIS executed several persons, after kidnapping them in public and in the presence of the  area’s locals.
