Drone crash | Russian forces shoot down Turkish reconnaissance drone flying over rural Ain Al-Arab (Kobani)

SOHR activists say that Russian forces stationed near the radio tower in the western countryside of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani) shot down a Turkish reconnaissance drone while flying over the area.

Yesterday, Syrian Observatory sources reported a visit by a delegation of Russian forces to the areas of Al-Sheyuokh and Al-Bawarez in the western countryside of Ain Al-Arab (Kobani), which came recently under Turkish rocket fire. Residents of these villages asked the Russians to put an end to the violations of the Turks and demanded the Russian forces comply with their duty of protecting the civilians of the area, as they described.

On August 14, SOHR sources said that Turkish forces stationed at Jarabulus base shelled the SDF-controlled city of Al-Sheyuokh in rural Ain al-Arab (Kobane), east of Aleppo. No casualties were reported.

Turkish forces also fired five rocket-propelled grenades a day earlier, targeting Al-Sheyuokh village on the eastern bank of the Euphrates river in Ain Al-Arab countryside (Kobani).
