Old ordnance | Landmine explosion injures one person in northern Hama

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the injury of a man in the explosion of an old landmine in the regime-controlled town of Kernaz in northern Hama.

On Friday, Observatory sources said that three civilians, including a child, were killed in the explosion of an old landmine in farmland near Kansafra town in Idlib countryside, while they were picking figs.

Quality of figs in Idlib countryside and Jabal al-Zawiya is the highest, since figs are dried and exported to neighbouring areas at affordable prices exceed $2 per kilo.

People risk their lives for picking figs, as they go to military areas and frontlines with regime forces, in which bombardment and landmine explosions pose a threat to their safety and lives.
