Third round in 11 days | Israeli jets strike Iranian positions in Deir Ezzor, killing ten

SOHR activists have reported hearing six loud explosions in Al-Bokamal city in Deir Ezzor countryside. According to SOHR sources, the explosions were caused by airstrikes by unknown jets, but believed to be Israeli, which targeted Iranian-backed militias’ positions in “Al-Thallathat” area in the south of Al-Bokamal city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, near the Syria-Iraq border.

The airstrikes resulted in the death of ten Iranian-backed militiamen (eight Iraqis and two Syrians), while ambulances were seen rushing from Al-Bokamal city to the targeted sites. The airstrikes also destroyed ammunition depots and vehicles of the Iranian-backed militias.

On September 3, reliable SOHR sources confirmed that airstrikes, executed at dawn by unidentified jets but believed to be Israeli, pounded positions of Iranian forces and Iranian-backed militias in Al-Thallathat area in Al-Bokamal desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. SOHR activists documented the killing of nine Iranian-backed militiamen, in addition to the injury  of others.

SOHR sources had reported that unidentified jets, thought to be Israeli, struck at dawn a position of the Iraqi Hezbollah about five km away from Qallat Al-Rahbah on the outskirts of Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The attack left seven militiamen of the Iraqi Hezbollah dead. The death toll was expected to rise because of the serious injuries of some casualties, in addition to unconfirmed reports of more casualties.
