Sweeping operation in southern Syria | Two regime soldiers die in landmine explosion in rural Al-Quneitra

SOHR sources have documented the death of two regime soldiers today in the explosion of a landmine near Tal Ahmer village in Al-Quneitra countryside. Yesterday, Observatory activists reported a landmine explosion in a military vehicle near Tal Asady in Al-Suwaidaa countryside, as regime forces were sweeping the area and removing old unexploded ordnance. The explosion injured a regime soldier and four officers of the 15th Division (two colonels and  two lieutenants).

It is worth noting that the regime-backed 15th Division and the Palestinian “Jaysh Al-Tahrir” supervise the sweeping operations and removing old ordnance in several areas from rural Al-Suwaidaa to Al-Karra’ area in the centre of the Syrian desert.

On October 11, regime forces started sweeping operations in areas where ISIS cells were believed to be active in Al-Suwaidaa desert and south Syria region.
