Violations | Yazidi woman still detained by Ankara-backed factions in Afrin countryside, north-west of Aleppo

Aleppo Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that the Turkish-backed Islamic “Al-Sham Corps” has been detaining Yazidi woman for more than two months from a village in Shirawa district in rural Afrin, north-west of Aleppo.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the 45-year-old woman was subjected to various forms of torture in Al-Sham Corps prison, according to her relatives, while the reason for the arrest is not known to date.

On February 5, reliable sources informed SOHR that gunmen of the Turkish-backed “Samarqand Brigade” stormed several houses in Kafr Safra village in Jendires district in Afrin countryside, arresting five people for unknown reasons.
