Put out of service nearly ten years ago | Gas pipeline connecting between Rumaylan and Baniyas plant explodes in Deir Ezzor

SOHR sources have reported that Al-Jabsa-Al-Rayyan gas pipeline, which connects between Rumaylan area and Baniyas plant, has been exploded in Abu Khashab desert in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor. SOHR activists have reported outbreak of fire in the gas pipeline, which makes it very likely that it has been attacked and the perpetrators are believed to be of ISIS cells which are prevalent in Deir Ezzor desert. It is worth noting that the gas pipeline was put out of service nearly ten years ago.

Syrian Observatory activists reported an explosion of a secondary gas pipeline in Al-Sukhnah area in the far Homs desert, near the administrative border with Deir Ezzor, after being attacked with an IED explosion. The identities of perpetrators remained unknown, and it was not known if the explosion was fabricated or carried out by ISIS members.

According to SOHR sources, regime forces brought in reinforcement to the site of the explosion, where clashes erupted with gunmen just after the explosion.
