Armed attack | Gunman killed in clashes with regime police nearby “al-Adli Palace” in Hama

SOHR activists have documented the death of a gunman in clashes with a patrol of regime police near the back gate of “al-Adli Palace” in Hama. The clashes erupted after two gunmen, including the fatality, opened fire on a police vehicle transporting prisoners to “al-Adli Palace”. According to local sources, the attack comes as a part of an old retaliation with one of the prisoners in the regime police’s vehicle. Moreover, a police officer sustained serious injuries in the attack which also caused material damage to the police’s vehicle.

 

This attack coincides with the escalating security chaos and proliferation of weapons in regime-held areas.

 

On May 21, the Syrian businessman Hossam Hosny Kabour, the brother of the deputy of the chief of Damascus Chamber of Industry, after being stabbed with a knife, while he was in his office in al-Taliani area in Damascus. The victim is from Yabroud city in Rif Dimashq.
