Syrian desert | 70 Russian air strikes left casualties among ISIS militiamen

Russian military jets have continued to air strikes operations on ISIS-held areas in the Syrian desert. SOHR activists have reported, 70 air raids were shelled by the Russian warplanes, yesterday, targeting the frontline of Athria in eastern Hama countryside and the desert of al-Rasafah in Raqqa countryside, and around Jabal al-Boushra at the administrative border between Raqqa and Deir Ezzor.

It has been confirmed that five belonging to ISIS militiamen were murdered in the shelling operation and others were wounded amid continuous Russian jets have been hovering.

Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR documented the killing of at least 1,433 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least two Russians, and 150 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Suwaidaa.

Also, four civilians working in gas fields and tens of shepherds and other civilians, including children and women, were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 950 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardment in the same period.
