Election show | After his military machines killed inhabitants, Bashar al-Assad cast his vote on the debris of Douma city

Today, Bashar al-Assad along with his wife cast their vote in a presidential election show in Douma, one of east Ghouta cities, and sullying the land that has witnessed the oppression of the Syrian regime whose military machines have caused massacres, wreaked havoc, displaced the indigenous inhabitants by Turkish-Russian deal in April 2018.

It is worth noting that the massacres in Douma happened few hours before the displacement of the inhabitants when dozens were killed and wounded in a toxic air shell,

Syrian Observatory sources, in the morning, documented the beginning of the first show of the presidential elections in the Syrian-held areas in different provinces. As usual in all presidential elections, the government employees and workers flock to the balloting stations under threats of losing their jobs in case of rejecting participation. They have to prove their participation and vote in favor of al-Assad, which was documented in leaked voice records and messages sent by the regime security men and the managers in the governmental bodies in several cities like al-Hasakah, al-Qamishli, Darra, al-Suwaidaa, Homs and other areas.

Given the election is a mere show, SOHR activists have reported collecting the civilians’ IDs to speed up the balloting process and voting collectively instead of them for the al-Assad regime. But, SOHR also saw others who go to the balloting centers in favor of the regime in an expression for their complete loyalty to al-Assad.

The elections coincided with rising voices rejecting the election show in several areas in Syrian like Darra, the birthplace of the Syrian revolution. Cities and villages of Jasem, Taseel, al-Muzayri’ah, Tel Shehab, Namer, Malihat al-Atas and other ears in Darra have seen public strikes over rejection of that absurdity in addition to distributing anti- al-Assad posters in the countryside of north Homs, east al-Ghouta, and al-Suwaidaa against the elections.

Meanwhile, the regime-held areas in the cities of al-Hasakah and al-Qamishli see a smaller number of people compared to the normal days, while known persons threw a hand-made bomb in the past few hours targeting the party division, a balloting center in the village of al-Mazra’a in al-Suwaidaa countryside, but no casualties have been reported yet.
