Fresh attack | ISIS attacks regime positions in Hama desert, injuring several soldiers

SOHR activists have reported a hit-and-run attack by ISIS on positions of regime forces and their proxy militias in Marija al-Jamalan district in eastern countryside of Hama, which resulted in the injury of several regime soldiers, one seriously.

This attack concedes with the ongoing security campaigns, searching for ISIS cells in several positions in the Syrian desert, along with tens of airstrikes on a daily basis.

Yesterday, SOHR activists monitored wide deployment by members of the National Defence Forces and Russian-backed militias near al-Dabyat oil field in al-Sukhnah desert in the eastern countryside of Homs and in Jabal al-Bishry area in Deir Ezzor desert, searching for hidden ISIS cells.

Moreover, SOHR obtained information confirming that ISIS members implemented several ambushes and hit-and-run attacks on regime positions in al-Sukhnah in the countryside of Homs. However, no casualties were reported so far.

SOHR on June16, reported about regime military reinforcements arrived in the countryside of Hama from various areas in Syria. Meanwhile regime forces opened headquarters in Oqairbat district in the eastern countryside of Hama and strengthened its military presence in Al-Hadaj village in Oqairbat district, as it is located near Salmiya desert. Also, regime forces secured a military passage towards desert and al-Belaas mountains.
