Under Russian-Turkish guarantee | Regime forces and “National Army” swap prisoners in eastern Aleppo

Aleppo province: SOHR sources have reported a new prisoners-swap deal between regime forces and the “National Army” at Abu Al-Zindayn crossing in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. Under Russian-Turkish guarantee, five members held by regime forces were released in return for the release of five others in the National Army’s custody. However, no further details have been reported so far about the identities of the released people.

 

In July, SOHR activists have reported a prisoner-swap deal between regime forces and Turkish-backed Sultan Murad Division at Abu Al-Zindayn crossing, near Al-Bab city in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, as five people in the regime’s custody were released in return for releasing five other people held by Sultan Murad Division. It is worth noting that “Sultan Murad Division prevented media from getting closer to the crossing or covering this operation. Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory obtained no further details on the identities of the people released by both sides or the circumstances of their arrest. It is not known yet if they were civilians or military personnel.
