ISIS attack on regime vehicle | Five regime soldiers killed and wounded in southwest of Al-Raqqa

Two of regime soldiers were killed and three others wounded in an armed attack by ISIS cells, targeting a military vehicle carrying them on the road between Maskanah and Dibsi Aafnan cities, southwest of Al-Raqqa

This comes after a day of ISIS members’ attack on positions of the regime-backed National Defence Forces (NDF) in Al-Hamra area in Al-Mayadeen desert in Deir Ezzor countryside. The attack left four NDF members injured, some seriously, and they were taken to Deir Ezzor military hospital.

 

On the other hand, ISIS members sneaked into a military post of the Russian-backed fifth Corps nearby Maadan Atiq town in eastern Al-Raqqah, capturing three members of the Corps. Meanwhile, SOHR sources reported seeing regime forces in Maadan desert on high alert, along with searching for ISIS cells.

Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 1610 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least three Russians, and 158 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings, and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, al-Raqqah, Homs, al-Suwaidaa, Hama, and Aleppo.
Also, four civilians working in gas fields, tens of shepherds, and other civilians were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 1,096 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardments in the same period.
