“Peace Spring” area | Turkish military bases shell Al-Hasakah villages, leaving civilians injured

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have reported that Turkish forces have shelled Quliyah village in Al-Shor area 20 kilometers away from the frontlines north western of Al-Hasakah, leaving a 30 year-old woman and a civilian severely injured.

According to SOHR sources, Turkish bases in Bab Al-Khair and Dawudiyah in “Peace Spring” area, and forces inside Turkish territory in areas opposite to the border village “Arada”, have executed ground shelling.

The shelling hit seven new villages in Al-Hasakah countryside which are Koliyah Al-Kozleh, Tel Shinan, Al-Tawila, Tel Goma’a, Assyrian Tel Qifjy and Um Al-Kaif villages in Tel Tamr countryside in the north western countryside of Al-Hasakah.

A few hours ago, Turkish forces fired intensive rockets on villages in Abu Rasin countryside / Zarkan, northwest of Al-Hasakah, SOHR activist reported.
According to Observatory activists, Turkish forces stationed in the “Peace Spring” area bombarded the villages of Dada Abdal, Al-Asadiyah, Ghuwaliyah, and Al-Nuwaihat.
This bombardment comes amid a large displacement of people from the area as Turkish forces have directly targeted civilian homes.
SOHR activists reported that Turkish forces stationed on the border strip with Syria targeted civilian houses with heavy machine guns and heavy artillery in Ain Dewar village in Al-Malikiyah/Derek countryside, Northeast Syria.
This bombardment sparked a mass civilian exodus, as numerous people fled to safer areas.
This attack coincided with a rocket attack carried out by Turkish forces at Kri Farra dam, which feeds Derek area with water.

Earlier today, SOHR sources confirmed that at least four people were killed in airstrikes executed by Turkish drones on the fourth power station near Al-Malikiyah (Dayrek) in Al-Hasakah countryside, killing military personnel and workers there.
It is worth noting the death toll is likely to rise because there are some people were seriously wounded, and the shelling had caused power cuts to some surrounding villages.
Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the injury of at least two members of SDF in a Turkish drone attack on two positions, the first being an electricity station and the second being an SDF position near Al-Malkiyah “Direk” north eastern of Syria.
The drone fired two missiles on the 4th station of the electricity company near Qurah Jokh mountain.
The electricity station is located between Tekl Bakal and Burouj villages on the road of Saimalka border crossing with Kurdistan Iraq region.
Yesterday, SOHR activists also reported hearing loud explosions in Al-Malkiyah “Direk” city in the far north eastern of Syria, due to shelling by a Turkish drone near the 4th station of Rumailan oil fields in Tekl Bakal village in Al-Malkiyah “Direk” countryside, however, no casualties were reported.
On January 20, SOHR sources documented the death of an SDF fighter and the injury of two others in an attack by a Turkish drone on a group of SDF fighters and maintenance workers in a power plant in the Assyrian Tel Jemaa in the northern countryside of Tel Tamr.
