Kidnapped for nearly 100 days | Young man’s family appeal to security authorities to release him

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that the 21 year-old civilian known initially as “M.Z.” from Daraa countryside was kidnapped by unidentified people nearly 100 days ago, where the kidnappers contacted his parents four days after he was kidnapped and demanded 300,000 U.S dollars as ransoms.

According to SOHR reliable sources, the kidnap occurred after the young man was lured by a group of suspects including the young woman known initially as “E.S.”, with participation of “A.G.”, “A.R.”, “A.A.” and “R.J.” on January 11.

The young man’s parents couldn’t afford paying the ransom, and appealed to governmental authorities and tribes’ dignitaries to interfere and help them release their kidnapped son, where the father of the kidnapped young man trades in construction material for a living and has limited income, making him unable to secure the ransom value.

On January 14, the police arrested the suspects and held them in Ezrae’ prison, however the fate of the kidnapped young man remains unknown.

It is worth noting that the kidnap rate has increased recently, in light of the security chaos spreading in most Syrian areas.
