Rising security chaos in HTS-held areas | Young man found dead in west Idlib countryside

SOHR sources have reported that a young man was found dead with gunshot wounds and dumped in an area between Al-Daghali village and Maryameen in Jisr Al-Shughur countryside in western Idlib. The reasons behind the killing of the man and the perpetrators remain unknown.

On June 24, SOHR sources reported that a six-year-old boy was found dead with marks of strangulation on his neck on the outskirts of a refugee camp in Killi area in the northern countryside of Idlib. It is worth noting that the kid went missing nearly a month earlier.

Accordingly, SOHR activists have documented 24 incidents of security disorder in areas held by HTS and factions in Idlib and surrounding countryside, which left 26 people dead, and they are as follows:

  • 18 civilians, including a woman and four children.

  • Three combatants, including an HTS fighter.

  • Five unidentified people.
