Landmine explosion | Civilian killed and his brother injured in Daraa

Daraa province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a civilian and injury of his brother because of the explosion of an old landmine in a farmland nearby Ankhil town in north-western Daraa.

It is worth noting that explosions of old ordnance continue to claim the lives of more Syrian civilians throughout Syria.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 168 civilians, including ten women and 83 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 251 civilians, including 15 women and 141 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, as well as the death of four civilians in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood.
