Abandoning newborns | Residents find abandoned newborn baby in Al-Tabaka countryside

Al-Raqqa province: SOHR activists have reported that residents found a newborn baby who was abandoned for unknown reasons and dumbed on the road in Ayed area in Al-Tabaka countryside western of Al-Raqqa within SDF-held areas.

This comes in light of the growing phenomenon of child abandonment across Syria for different reasons.

SOHR sources have reported that a baby boy was found dead in a dumpster in the industrial area in Al-Qamishli city centre in Al-Hasakah countryside.

According to SOHR statistics, this is the 33rd case of abandoned new-born babies since early 2022 with 22 cases documented in regime-controlled areas and 11 documented in SDF-controlled areas.
