En route to Jordan | Inte*lligence service of Free Syria Army foils smu*ggling operation of large nar*cotic shipment

SOHR sources have reported that the intelligence service of Free Syria Army has confiscated a large narcotic shipment of 70,000 captegon pills, while being smuggled to Jordan and Gulf states. The shipment, which has been damaged in the presence of commanders of the International Coalition and Free Syria Army, is the third shipment to be confiscated in a month in light of the escalating activities by smuggling cells backed by the Lebanese Hezbollah.

 

On November 25, Reliable sources informed SOHR that intelligence and security services of the Free Syria Army in the 55 kilometre de-confliction zone, near Iraq-Syria-Jordan border triangle, have confiscated a large shipment of narcotics en route to Jordan and Gulf states, after having been smuggled from regime-controlled areas.

 

It is worth noting that this was the second shipment to be confiscated in that area in less than ten days.

 

While on November 18, SOHR sources reported that the intelligence and security services of the “Free Syria Army” confiscated an illicit drug consignment in the 55 kilometre de-confliction zone.

 

According to SOHR sources, over 60,000 captagon pills were confiscated, after having been smuggled from regime-controlled areas to the 55 kilometre de-confliction zone at the Syria-Iraq-Jordan border triangle.

 

Also, on November 16, Clashes erupted between the Jordanian army on one hand and an armed group working on smuggling drugs on the other hand, while the group was smuggling a huge amount of drugs and weapons taking advantage of the weather, where the clashes erupted earlier today near Al-Sha’ab village at borders between Syria and Jordan in eastern Al-Suwaydaa countryside, while the Jordanian army managed to stop the smuggling operation and the armed group fled towards Syrian territory leaving the materials that were set to be smuggled behind.
