Old ordnance | Child ki-lled and four other children injured in Daraa countryside

Daraa province: A child was killed, and four other children were injured due to the explosion of an old cluster bomb in Al-Karak Al-Sharqi village in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

This comes in light of the proliferation of explosive remnants of war and the need of removing them to reduce their danger.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented the death of 207 civilians, including ten women and 104 children, due to explosions of old landmines, unexploded shells and bombs across Syria since early 2022. In addition, 310 civilians, including 17 women and 185 children, sustained various injuries in the same period. Among the total death toll, a man and his son were killed in the collapse of a war-damaged building in Darya city in Rif Dimashq, four civilians were killed in the collapse of another building in Jubar neighbourhood and a child was killed in the collapse of a house in Adawan in Idlib countryside.
