Anti-IS*IS operations | Coalition and counter-terr*orism units arrest four people in southern Al-Hassakah countryside, amid flight by aircraft

Al-Hasakah province: “International Coalition” forces, with the participation of SDF counterterrorism units, carried out two security operations in the early hours of Thursday morning in Al-Shaddadi town and its outskirts in the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah, arresting four people for “belonging to ISIS cells.”

According to Syrian Observatory sources, clashes with machine-guns erupted between the wanted men and the SDF anti-terrorist units over the refusal of one of the wanted persons to surrender, then the man which detonated himself with an IED.

On December 20, SOHR activists reported that the forces of the International Coalition, with the participation of special units of the SDF, carried out an airdrop at that dawn in Al-Sour town in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

During the operation, four people, including Turkmens, were arrested on charges of “belonging to ISIS cells.” The arrestees were taken to an unknown destination.

According to information obtained by Syrian Observatory activists, these four people are active in the area and work in the arms trade for ISIS.
