IS-IS resurgence | Assassination attempt against head of Al-Basira hospital in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that the head of Al-Basira hospital was severely injured, where he was shot by unidentified gunmen on motorbikes, believed to be ISIS cells, in front of his house in Al-Basira city in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, where his body was taken to Jadid Bakara hospital to receive proper medication.

SOHR has documented 198 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2022.

According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 142 persons dead: 54 civilians, including two women and a child, and 87 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces, and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

It is worth noting that these attacks have not included the operation of Ghuwayran prison, which left heavy losses.
