Second day of “Sa’qat Al-Jazeera campaign | SDF and coalition, arrests nearly 52 people for “belonging to IS*IS” in Tel Hamis south of Al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah province: anti-ISIS “Sa’qat Al-Jazeera” campaign which is launched by SDF and International Coalition and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) continues in the towns of Tel Hamis and Al-Hawl, south-east of Al-Hasakah, for the second consecutive day.

In the campaign, nearly 52 people were arrested in Tel Hamis and countryside for “belonging to ISIS”. The detainees were taken to the security posts of the SDF, amid security and military alert in the area.

This comes after SDF security forces thwarted the attack carried out by ISIS cells on December 26, against security centers and the intelligence prison housing ISIS prisoners in Al-Raqqah, marking the deadliest attack after the Ghuwiran prison attack.

Yesterday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with the participation of the International Coalition Forces and the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), launched an anti-ISIS campaign under the name “Sa’qat Al-Jazeera” in the towns of Tel Hamis and Al-Hawl, south-east of Al-Hasakah, amid the closure of the entrances and exits of the town.

This coincided with a military alert of the “SDF,” and the deployment of intensive security checkpoints in the area between Al-Hawl and Tel Hamis towns.
