Homs | Iranian-backed militias expel Syrians from their houses on M20 highway under pretext of “protecting roads”

Homs province: SOHR sources have reported that members of a patrol of the Iranian-backed Afghan “Liwaa Fatemiyoun” have expelled Syrian civilians from their houses in Abu Al-Hassan village adjacent to the M20 highway in the area between Arak oil field and the headquarters of the directorate of roads in the eastern countryside of Homs.

According to SOHR sources, the patrol’s members have expelled the civilians under the pretext that  “the location of these houses is strategic and enables the militiamen to monitor and protect the highway.”

SOHR sources had reported that Iranian-backed militias expelled families from remote villages in the eastern countryside of Homs, including Kherbet Al-Mouh, Al-Dawwah Al-Zera’iyah and Al-Tulaylah, under the pretext of “protecting their headquarters and training camps in the area.

It is worth noting that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Lebanese Hezbollah have imposed predomination on the south-eastern countryside of Homs, near the Syria-Lebanon border, in light of the “symbolic” influence by regime governmental institutions. Meanwhile, inhabitants of these areas have been forced to abandon their livelihood and flee from their villages, fearing indiscriminate arrests for “spying for ISIS and telling positions of Iranian-backed fighters.”
