Airdrop operation | Coalition and SDF arrest paraplegic IS*IS-ex-member in northern Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: In the early hours of Thursday morning, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and “International Coalition” forces carried out a joint airdrop operation on a house in Mashkh village in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, with the aim of arresting two ISIS members.

According to Syrian Observatory activists, a SDF patrol raided the house amid flight by “International Coalition” helicopters and explosion that rocked the area.

Clashes erupted between SDF and Coalition members on the one hand and wanted members on the other.

In the operation, wanted an ex-ISIS member, a paraplegic member of Al-Kubaysah tribe, while the other ISIS member managed to escape.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that four “International Coalition” helicopters set off from the military base in Al-Omar oil field, which is the largest base in Syria, and flew at low altitude over “Euphrates River” separating between SDF-held areas and areas held by regime and Iranian militias, and flew over Al-Basira, Al-Shahil, Al-Zir and Al-Tayana all the way to Abo Hardob town in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

This took place in order to monitor operations of weapon smuggling by Iranian militias to SDF-held areas.
