Withdraw without resistance | HTS captures Al-Sultan Murad’s headquarters in Afrin city in northern Aleppo countryside without fight

Aleppo province: Yesterday evening, HTS took control of the military headquarters of Al-Sultan Murad faction near the old Al-Saraya building in Afrin city centre, north of Aleppo.

This comes after HTS members stormed the headquarters of the Committee for the Restitution of Rights of Al-Sultan Murad faction, surrounding the building and deploying snipers to residential buildings in the vicinity of the military headquarters.

According to SOHR sources, HTS had asked Al-Sultan Murad faction to hand over all the military headquarters that previously were of Al-Jabha Al-Shamyyiah faction, but Al-Sultan Murad faction rejected to withdraw.

HTS began sending military forces to the vicinity of the military headquarters and began to impose a full siege on it and deploy snipers on residential buildings.

Fearing a clash with Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham, Al-Sultan Murad faction withdrew from the headquarters without resistance.

A military force led by “Abu Abdullah Al-Iraqi” headed to another headquarters of Al-Sultan Murad faction located behind the Old Al-Saraya building, and also controlled it with little resistance by Al-Sultan Murad faction, formerly known as the Popular Credit Bank building.

It is worth noting that the headquarters controlled by Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham was the military headquarters belonging to the Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah faction. Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah faction withdrew these headquarters after Hayyat Tahrir Al-Sham and their proxy factions attacked them in Afrin and expelled all factions of the Third Corps.
