Security chaos in Daraa | Residents find two bodies in different areas

Daraa province: Residents found the body of 14-year-old child of Bedouin tribes with signs of torture, where he was executed and dumped on Damascus-Daraa motorway between Kherbat Ghazalah and western Al-Ghariyah towns. The identity of the perpetrators is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing to find out the circumstances of the incident.

On a related context, residents found the body of 17-year-old with signs of torture dumped near Saida bridge on the international motorway. It is noted that the child had gone missing for a week, when contact with him was lost on Nahtah road in Basr Al-harir town, while he was on his way to visit a friend.

This comes in light of the rampant security chaos that pervades Daraa province.

Since early 2023, the number of attacks documented by SOHR in Daraa province has risen to 76, which left 57 people dead; and they are as follows:

  • 19 civilians, including a child, a boy, three women and a man accused of “involving in drug business.”

  • 27 regime soldiers, members and collaborators with regime security services.

  • Two former fighters who did not join any military formation, after striking reconciliation deals.

  • Four ISIS members.

  • Three ex-combatants with settled-status working for regime services and backed militias.

  • Two people working for the Lebanese Hezbollah.
