Officer di*es affected by wou*nds | Number of people kil*led by Israeli attacks on Aleppo rises to nine

SOHR activists have documented the death of nine people, due to Israeli airstrikes on Al-Nairab Military Airport in Aleppo countryside on May 2, after a regime soldier died today affected by the wounds he sustained.

It is worth noting that the victim is a non-commissioned officer from Saighata village in Misyaf countryside.

His death raised the toll to nine people, three of non-Syrian Iranian-backed militias, five regime officers and a non-commissioned officer in the Israeli strikes on Aleppo international airport area, Al-Nayrab military airport area and the air defence laboratories area in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.

SOHR documented 16 attacks in 2023: 11 airstrikes and four rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 34 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 48 combatants and injured 28 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:
• 18 regime soldiers and officers.
• 18 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.
• Five members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
• Four Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.
• Three members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
In addition, those attacks left a man and a woman dead and other civilians injured.
The attacks are distributed regionally as follows:
• Damascus and Rif Dimashq: five attacks.
• Al-Quneitera: five attacks.
• Hama: one attack.
• Tartus: one attack.
• Aleppo: three attacks.
• Al-Suwaidaa: three attacks.
• Daraa: two attacks.
• Homs: two attacks.
SOHR would like to point out that Israel sometimes targeted more than one province in a single attack.
