Old vendetta | Woman kil*led and girl inj*ured in a fight in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: A woman was killed and a girl was injured during a fight that escalated to tribal infighting with guns due to an old vendetta between two families of Al-Bakara Tribe in Al-Kasra district in western Deir Ezzor countryside within SDF-held areas.

Revenge and vengeance cases still claim lives and spark fear among civilians due to widespread of weapons, causing a state of security chaos.

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 99 since early 2023. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 60 people, including four children and four women, dead and 132 others, including eight women and four children, injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

• Deir Ezzor: 71 infightings left 34 people, including three children and three women, dead and 73 others, including seven women and three children, injured.

• Al-Hasakah: Eight infightings left six persons dead and 13 others injured, including a child and a woman.

• Al-Raqqah: 15 infightings left 14 persons dead 39 others injured.

• Aleppo countryside: Six infightings left six persons dead.
