Set off from areas held by “Nawwaf Al-Bashir” militia | SDF attack two boats carrying weapons and launch combing campaign in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources reported that clashes erupted this evening in Al-Shuhayl town in Deir Ezzor countryside between tribesmen and SDF fighters, before SDF regained the control of several posts in the town.

Meanwhile, international Coalition fighter jets hovered over different areas which experienced those clashes, which are still ongoing, in Deir Ezzor countryside.

On the other hand, SDF attacked two boats carrying weapons, after having set off from areas held by regime forces and an Iranian-backed militia headed by Sheikh “Nawwaf Al-Bashir” near Jadid Ekaydat village. The two boats were heading to areas where clashes were ongoing in east Euphrates region.

It is worth noting that clashes and attacks are still ongoing in different areas, while SDF have launched a combing campaign in three villages and a town: Jadid Ekaydat, Jadid Al-Bakarah, Al-Harijah and Al-Shuhayl.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that armed clashes with light and medium weapons erupted between SDF and affiliated formations on one hand, and members of “Deir Ezzor Military Council” and its proxies on the other in Theban town on the eastern bank of Euphrates river, which caused material damage only.

Similarly, gunmen from Al-Bakara tribe headed by “Abo Rahaf” affiliated with “Deir Ezzor Military Council” took control of “Al-Bareed Al-Kadeem” checkpoint where five members of the SDF-backed Commandos forces were stationed in Mohaymidah town in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside, after clashes between both sides, which led to the withdrawal of the Commandos members.

SOHR sources had reported that tribal elders and dignitaries from north-east Syria called for stopping the ongoing infighting in Deir Ezzor countryside, which left tens of fatalities.

Elders and dignitaries of Al-Bakarah tribe met with SDF commanders in Al-Ma’amel area, in presence of the International Coalition’s coordinator, in order to reach a solution putting an end to the infighting between SDF and gunmen of “Deir Ezzor Military Council,” form a negotiation committee and open roads.

According to SOHR statistics, the number of people who have been killed since the clashes erupted on August 27 has reached 40; they are as follows:

  • Five civilians, including two little girls and a woman.

  • 20 gunmen and tribesmen.

  • 11 SDF fighter, including five fighters of Liwa Al-Shamal Al-Democrati (the Northern Democratic Brigade) from Idlib.

  • Four persons who were killed in a raid by an SDF patrol in Daman town.

In addition, the clashes left at least 15 persons injured: eight tribesmen and seven SDF fighters.
