Ongoing security chaos | Civilian shoot his cousin dead in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: A civilian shot his cousin dead in Gharanij town in eastern Deir Ezzor over an old vendetta.

 

The Syrian Observatory has documented 84 murder crimes in SDF-controlled areas since early 2023, where domestic violence and armed robbery were behind some of these murders, while motivations behind the others remained unknown. These murders left 94 civilian fatalities, including 14 women and ten children; they are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Al-Hasakah: 24 civilians, including six women and four children

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 33 civilians, including three women and two children.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: 19 civilians, including three women and three children.

 

  • Manbij: 13 civilians, including two women.

 

  • Ain Al-Arab (Kobani): Five civilians, including a little boy.
