70th attacks in 2023 | Israeli missiles hit two positions in Sayeda Zeinab area in Rif Dimashq

Israeli missiles hit two positions of the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias in two farms near the regime headquarters of the management of electronic warfare in Sayeda Zeinab area in Rif Dimashq province, where SOHR activists have reported hearing loud explosions and seeing plumes of smoke in the targeted sites. Also, ambulances were seen rushing to the two sites, amid unconfirmed reports on fatalities.

SOHR documented 70 attacks in 2023: 47 airstrikes and 23 rocket attacks by ground forces, during which Israel targeted several positions in Syria, destroying nearly 138 targets, including buildings, weapons and ammunitions warehouses, headquarters, centres and vehicles. These strikes killed 116 combatants and injured 130 others. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

  • 35 Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen.

  • Seven Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen.

  • 24 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah.

  • Two members of “Al-Jihad Al-Islami” organisation.

  • Two unidentified persons.

In addition, those attacks left three men and a woman dead and other civilians injured.
